Chicken Wings with Sweet Soy Wasabi Sauce Recipe

If you’re looking to spice up your chicken wings, this is for you. Keep reading, because I’m about to show you a new way to make wings, and it might be something you’ll appreciate. This is one of the easiest recipes I know.

It’s important to keep the chicken wings wet and flavored, so let’s talk about the first step in this recipe: making a brine.

Brine

Ingredients:

Water                                        2 Cups (500ml)
Ice cubes                                   1 Cup (250g)
Whole Black Pepper                      2Tsp (10g)
Garlic                                        5 gloves
White or Brown Sugar           3Tbsp (45g)
Salt                                         Until the water taste like Seawater

Procedure:

1. Pour 2 cups (500 ml) of water into the large or medium-sized pot.
2. Put the dry ingredients in a pot with water and cook it over high heat.
3. When the water in the pot comes to a boil, take it from the heat and stir in the 250g of ice cubes to cool it down.

So, now that the brine is prepared, I’d like to discuss chicken wings. Exactly what we need to do to ensure that it is crisp, delicious, and incredibly juicy.

Wings

Ingredients:

Chicken Wings     16pcs (629g) the weight may depend on the local store you buy
Corn Starch           1 cup (250g) Just to cover the wings
Brine                     750ml

Procedure:

1. To marinate the chicken wings, fill the clean container with the brine and wings and refrigerate it for 3 hours, or, as I prefer to do, for 24 hours.
2. After we marinate the chicken wings with the brine prepare a clean mixing bowl with cornstarch.
3. Take the chicken wings out of the brine solution and pat them dry with a paper towel. Begin applying cornstarch to the wings once they have dried.
4. Prepare the wings by deep-frying them at 450 degrees Fahrenheit. To achieve a golden brown color on the wings, cook them for 3 to 5 minutes. ( To avoid salmonella contamination, check the interior temperature of the chicken wings with a thermometer; it must be in the range of 160 degrees Fahrenheit)

And now that you know how to cook chicken wings, I’ll show you how to prepare a sauce that will really put a new spin on those old favorites, so please bear with me as I go over the sauce’s ingredients and preparation.

Sweet Soy Wasabi Sauce

Ingredients:

Soy Sauce       3 Tbsp (45ml)
Sesame Oil     1 Tbsp (15ml)
Garlic             3 Cloves (mince)
Wasabi           2 Tbsp (30g)
Sugar              1 Tbsp (15g)
Water              1/3 Cup (78.8ml)

Slurry

Ingredients:

Cornstarch     1 Tbsp (15ml)
Water             1 Tbsp (15ml) (cold)

Procedure:

1. Combine the cornstarch and water in a bowl and whisk until smooth. And set it aside.
2. Sauté the minced garlic in the sesame oil in a medium frying pan until the garlic becomes brownish.
3. After the garlic has been sautéed, stir in the soy sauce, water, and sugar. Bring to a boil, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
4. Finish the sauce by gradually whisking in the slurry until it reaches the desired consistency. In order to avoid drowning the chicken wings in sauce, I recommend keeping the sauce thin.
5. The next step is to grab a mixing bowl and toss the wings in the sauce before serving.
